How to make shimmering bubble bath (photo tutorial)
It’s been a while since I did any home spa stuff, and even longer since I blogged about it, mainly just due to a lack of time these days. I did get it together enough to make some shimmering bubble bath the other day, though!
I’m calling this a photo tutorial because it’s mostly photos that show the process. It’s easy enough not to need a lot of text.
Here are some of the supplies I used. The shea butter bubble bath is from From Nature With Love.
Essential and fragrance oils. One of the most fun things about making home spa things is the ability to blend scents.
Measure out enough bubble bath to fit in the container and add just a tiny scoop of shimmer. I used lip balm colorant from the craft store.
The color spreads out nicely. It will settle to the bottom of your container after a week or two, so gently tilt the container back and forth to suspend it again. Add scent (lots of it, because the shea butter absorbs scent) and stir gently till everything’s mixed.
The finished product. To use, pour under running water.
Here’s one with an opalescent shimmer:
Here’s a batch with one or two drops of FD&C violet dye added, plus some of the opalescent lip balm colorant.
For comparison, left to right: clear with opal colorant, violet dye with opal colorant, and clear with raspberry colorant.
