Aesthetics expert. Word nerd. Pixel pusher.

I’m Lindley. Nice to meet you! Hope you’re enjoying the blog.

I’ve worked in the DC metro area’s government contracting arena since 2005. I have a technical writing and editing background, and currently work as a web editor and writer for GovWin.com in Herndon, VA.

When I’m not writing about how to land your dream job or how small businesses can break into government contracting, I’m putting pliers to wire, moonlighting as an opera singer, manipulating light, or writing about all of it.

Writer. Editor. Jewelry designer. Photographer. Singer. Blogger.

My interests might seem like an eclectic bunch, but they’re all tied together by aesthetics. If you can make it beautiful, I’m there.

Sure, that makes sense for the more artistic pursuits, but how does that apply to writing?

Writing and editing are about beauty, too. The best writing is so well constructed and laid out that the reader retains the images and messages instead of the words. A good editor can make the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning by paring away extraneous phrases and using point-perfect formatting to let the message shine.

Right brain + left brain = magic.

“Dreamer” and “doer” don’t have to conflict. My style involves reflection followed by solid strategy and actual execution, connecting the dreamer to the doer by careful, realistic planning.

  1. A prison to some living things and a precious stone to others, amber is indeed a fossilized resin. While some consider it a gemstone, others think that it cannot be called a precious stone because it isn’t of mineral provenience. However discussed this issue might be no argument can stop people from wearing amber jewelry. Part of the amber charm consists mainly in the fact that it immortalizes something inside it. It acts like a cryogenic pod, keeping the insects body in great shape because it doesn’t allow the bodies to decay. Some pieces of amber jewelry have prehistoric organic matter captured in their resin adding mystery and charm to the wonderfully colored jewels.
